I’ve asked for the flying of flags to be added to the Windsor Town Forum agenda for Tuesday 8th March 2022 so we can make the most of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The government wants to see more flags flown, particularly the Union Flag, the flag of the United Kingdom. It is a…
I felt the need to respond to a mantra we hear from the Tories and their supporters all too often, which always makes me think of the scene Monty Python’s Life of Brian “What have the Romans ever done for us?” 😉 It was published in The Express letter pages this week. I’d like to…
Please give generously to Rotarians in Windsor on Saturday as they are collecting for the Ukrainian migrants crossing the border to EU countries, with a focus on the border of Ukraine & Romania. Filippo Grandi, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees estimates the number of refugees to be over 368,000 fleeing Ukraine to the west…
Love Windsor’s Facebook Group has just gone over 3,000 members… Join Us… Thank you. Jon
A recent flyer through my door from the Conservatives described how they’d been keeping council tax low for 14 years. Why do they keep blowing this rusty old trumpet? From my point of view the budget should not be used to play games but it invariably is! “Share your alternative budget” is another broken record…
For the last two weekends the Tories have been out in force, 12 of them yesterday, in Clewer & Dedworth West handing out a flyer with a glaring spelling mistake! What surprised me about the flyer was that the main photo was of those famous banners shouting about the lowest council tax outside London… do…
I thought I’d reach out to Windsor & Maidenhead residents to see if you had any questions about Infrastructure in RBWM? Yesterday there was a post about new Electric Vehicle charging points in Albert Street, Windsor which I’ll be asking about. A tad surprised I’d not had a note about this but that made me…
I’ve just sat on the panel today to choose the next local community projects to be part of the blue token scheme and I would have preferred to have had more choice… so please spread the word and get local groups that you know to submit an application so we can consider them next time….
Hi my name is Jon Davey and I am a member of Windsor & Eton Rotary Club. I am working on a project that will hopefully inspire Rotary Clubs from across the UK & the Commonwealth to send us tributes to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in the form of words, pictures and images that…
I recorded my BLP speech as the RBWM videos have very mixed sound and vision quality. RBWM full video at the bottom of this page. The Borough Local Plan is a document that looks to address the fictitious needs of a government who have shown time and time again that they cannot be trusted to…
If you would like to add your own comment then you need to search for 22/00090 on the RBWM Planning Portal. I brought a motion to full council on 25th January 2022 asking for RBWM to start measuring EMF radiation levels around the new 5G Masts for themselves but this was voted down by the…
Local resident, Kathy Perrior, has been on my case for 6 months with regular updates about Castle Farm Spinney dog poo bin being constantly full. In turn, I have been badgering the lead member and the service provider to get something done. I’ve been suggesting replacing the bin with one of larger capacity. Words kept falling…
I’m being told that the DECOs are back out in force and being very enthusiastic about ticketing residents. If you get fined for dropping a fag butt after all the publicity there has been and the high levels of awareness there is, then I have little sympathy. But if you felt your experience was a…
Last night at Full Council I brought a question and a motion relating to concerns that some residents have around their safety regarding 5G EMF radiation emitted by the new masts that are being installed across the borough. A fairly innocuous request which could have easily been support by all Councillors as the health and…
I asked the following question of tonight’s Full Council meeting and the response, published yesterday evening, shows Cllr Gerry Clark, Cabinet Member Transport, Infrastructure and Digital Connectivity at RBWM is willing to listen to residents concerns. So please share your concerns in the form below and I will convene a meeting for Gerry to host….
Is there any point in you commenting on the Budget 2022/23 Consultation? I think there is… because when the council asks for your input in a formal way they have to be seen to analyse and consider the responses. And while they might not be able to implement ideas you submit this year, they could…
Another 5G Mast Planning Application has been submitted on Tinkers Lane with reference 22/00090. Residents need to submit their comments online by the 14th February. https://www.rbwm.gov.uk/home/planning/find-planning-application 22/00090/TLDTT | Application for determination as to whether prior approval is required for proposed 20m ‘slim line’ phase 8 monopole c/w wraparound cabinet at base, 3no. additional ancillary equipment…
Last week on Facebook there was a post about some anti-social behaviour where youths were harassing residents for their bikes on Dedworth Road. I asked Jeff Pick at the Windsor Town Forum on Thursday evening if the police monitor social media in order to respond to any issues and he published the following in his…
It was suggested at this week’s Windsor Town Forum meeting that the forum is for Windsor’s unparished area and performs the duties of the Parish Councils. In my experience Parish Councils do a fantastic job of reviewing planning applications but there is none of that at the Windsor Town Forum. Perhaps there should be? Local…

Cranborne Primary School Swan Lifeline Windsor Foodshare Last quarter the Community Grants Competition was won by Baby Bank with Driven Forward 2nd and Hilltop First School in 3rd. The winner gets £1500, 2nd £1000…

In August 2008 I created the Business in Berkshire LinkedIn Group to complement a website I had created for a business network I started in 2003. In 2008 the website showed 5,000,000 page views! Although the feeling was much of this engagement was search engine robots, the data was hard to decipher back then, it…
Susy Shearer, lead on Wild Windsor, organised a tour of Sutherland Grange with Jason Mills RBWM Countryside Manager to talk about this year’s plans for the area. There are plans to plant 200 whips, essentially baby trees, which will be planted in 6 groups and their purpose, as I understand it, is to assist the…
Susy Shearer, who wears many community hats, is leading on “Wild Windsor”. She pinged out the email below to a number of residents and I said I would share to see if others would like to join us… Happy new year, friends and neighbours! We hope that you and your families are safe and well…
I quite often see questions raised on social media about local issues and think residents should really ask these questions of their council but for some reason they don’t. The next Full Council meeting where residents can ask questions is on Tuesday 25th January 2022 at 7pm For the Council officers the main point of…
The key message I want to get across is DON’T WORRY. Over the last few months a number of planning applications to build on these small plots of land have spread panic and confusion amongst the community in south Dedworth, around Wolf Lane, Franklyn Crescent and Hemwood Road. This confusion turned to fear as word…
If you know anything about the chopping down of the trees at the top of Wolf Lane opposite Hemwood Road then please report to RBWM using trees@rbwm.gov.uk quoting the Thames Valley Police crime reference number 1223 151221 in the email title so they can build a case with TVP. The land is one of these…
On Thursday the cabinet will meet and unless I am very mistaken, AGREE UNANIMOUSLY to their all new singing and dancing parking discount for RBWM that will take effect from April 2022. This initiative is about driving shoppers into Windsor. Today I had to pop into town and with less than 2 weeks to go…
The latest edition of our Love Windsor Community Newsletter is being distributed by the Post Office to 15,561 homes and businesses in Windsor from today. It’s main aim is to spread community news and the great work that groups and individuals do in and around Windsor in the hope it inspires people to come up…
