Throughout my life I have tended to learn better at the coalface than reading a book… and so it was a year ago I jumped in with both feet and stood for local election and on this day, at silly o’clock in the morning was voted in as Councillor for Clewer & Dedworth Ward in…
Windsor & Eton Rotary Club have agreed to purchase a 3D Printer for Windsor Boys School based on the educational benefits of this equipment in the longer term and the hopefully much shorter term benefit of it producing masks for the NHS. Windsor Boys School already has a few printers going full time producing masks…
When I first started out as a Councillor it seemed logical to create a separate profile for my new role and I found out rapidly that was a mistake… There are rules that apply to Councillors that don’t apply to residents and I learned the hard way that there are those that will take advantage…
UNIFI is a brilliant initiative by six formers at Burnham Grammar School, Slough. I met them when they took part in a Young Enterprise event in Windsor a few months back and thought it was a neat idea then… it’s a brilliant idea now! Getting the generations talking to each other by sharing stories… BRILLIANT……
After watching the debaukel that is the EXPO centre aka “NHS Knightingale” where they have spent millions without considering how they were going to staff it, making it feel like a PR stunt, it came to my attention yesterday that an older chap wanted to de-register for food parcels but this requires an “extremely vulnerable”…
Eight years ago my Yorkshire pal Asghar Majeed was Mayor of Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead and got to go for a walk with Her Majesty from Windsor Castle down to the Guildhall. He introduced Her Majesty and his Royal Highness to Yorkshire tea and shared a story of how they’d re-named part of…

Covid-19 has changed the world as we know it and none of us know how long this economic melt down is going to last but its impact is not going to stop being increasingly felt locally for months. In the last 4 weeks Windsor Foodshare has seen the needs of local residents requiring help with…
Today I went for a walk around the ward and the one thing that shone out was the number of cars driving around… there were too many! #StaySafeStayAtHome This was confirmed by Shakil, posty in photo, he agreed, he’d seen too many cars on the road and appealed for people to #StaySafeStayAtHome Sid and I…
Dear Adam, How to begin this letter? What is going on in the world? Who would have thought 4 weeks ago we would be where we are now? Yesterday I clicked through on a link to dot Gov to read about the support available for sole traders. Tax dodging corporations are making claims on UK…
Popped down for a dog walk today, little traffic, a few walkers and a big pile of fly tipping… including some paint pots that were not new, they looked to have been lying around somewhere for a year or two… I’d suggest, taken from someone’s garage after a spring clean… their first choice was to…
The world is turning upside down… the south is becoming more northern by the day in these unprecedented times 😉 Over 20 groups have made themselves known to me and I estimate over 2,000 volunteers in the Windsor, Wraysbury, Ascot, Bray area… and there will be thousands more, not registered, simply helping neighbours. That doesn’t…
Hi, I have just got off the phone to David at the West Windsor Hub and asked him what could they do with more of? “Tinned meats would be great… appreciate they are expensive but if we could get more as the number of families keeps increasing…” This being Windsor, I figure we should include…
Cllr Donna Stimson has been working on a new community initiative “EcoWAM” and getting the Green Bins back up and collecting from tomorrow 6th April while battling Covid-19! Impressive stuff… She asked folk to share far and wide… Tell granddad his bi-weekly green bin collection is back on, so get his bin out this week…
From Monday 6 April, we will be moving to alternate weekly waste and recycling collections due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Is your area Purple or Orange? This will determine if they are collecting Refuse or Recycling in your area… Check your day here >>> You can see the current calendar here >>> Any future calendar…
On a Monday, Wednesday and Friday Tesco Dedworth are trying to help the elderly and are doing a great job… letting them in at 8:30am to opening the tills at 9:00am… Thing is, normal customers are turning up after 9:00am and this is putting stress on the older people and the checkout process. If you…
I have just sent an invite, to ALL those I could recognise, via Facebook to my fellow RBWM Councillors to be my friend at this time. I will then follow up by asking them to join the Love Windsor Facebook Group… even if they are from Maidenhead! I’m not that keen on party politics most…
Morning all, it looks like a nice sunny, if a tad chilly day to stay in your garden and do a few jobs that you’ve been meaning to do for years but never got round to… we have plenty of time now! Latest news from the RBWM is that the care parcels for the extremely…

I should start by saying this is NOT an Official Tesco message or diagram… this is one of my very own as a Tesco Customer Assistant for 2 weeks, a Councillor for almost a year, a business owner for 25 years, a father for 24 years and a human being for 55 years and 1…
There are many top gardeners out there, mostly not on Facebook, they love gardening too much 😉 But if you do multi task and know your gladioli from your aspidistras, what should folk be paying attention to in their gardens at the moment. Let’s see if we have any budding Titchmarsh’s out there 😉 Thank…
Cecilia called in today… first time she’s been shopping in 3 years! A retired nurse, she’d heard that Tesco’s was the place to be… friends had said about the queuing around the car park and to her it was like a ride at Legoland… she loved it and was in good cheer as she made…
Good morning Windsor Do you live on any of the streets below and would you be willing to volunteer to help if help was needed? This list of streets covered was provided by the Windsor (U.K.) Community Emergency Plan Volunteers as the new RBWM Official Community Hub is literally that, new. If you are part…
Donna Stimson, who is leading the way on all things environmental and generally spends 80 hours a week trying to help all the residents of RBWM live a greener and more environmentally friendly life style posted this earlier today and I wasn’t shocked. It underlines that people are not getting it… we on on lock…
The store is only letting 30 people in at a time. If at the back of the queue it is likely to take 20-30 minutes to get in. Allow extra time. Once in the shopping experience is most relaxing and you are likely to find most things you are looking for. Half the checkouts are…
My wife has been doing this for years and obviously we chortled but her excessively cautious hygiene regime is allowed to dominate our world at this time… Don’t touch keypads with your pinky, we do it without thinking… GET THINKING! It’s all in the name… KEYPAD 😉 Thank you. Jon
