One of the first people to contact me as a new councillor was Michelle Gregory who was very concerned that Hemwood Dell had been put up for auction to the highest bidder. Over the next month I arrange for her to talk to all the relevant RBWM officers from all relevant departments and they were…

I wonder if my first question at council back in June started the butterfly effect! Following the Conservative Leader’s resignation on 12th September, this week we heard from RBWM that… CIPFA were asked by the Managing Director and s151 Officer to review the governance, approval and management processes in relation to a £350k capital scheme…

The group of Local Independents had called on the senior leadership of RBWM to fully disclose the findings of the Chartered Institute for Public Finance and Accounting (CIPFA), who review and offer advice on both the finance and governance arrangements of local government organisations. Cllr Lynne Jones, as Leader of the Opposition, has over previous…

The latest news is the election of a new leader for RBWM, Cllr Johnson (main pic). Let’s hope he brings balance and clear, transparent decision making to the RBWM? The family and I went away for an extended holiday, booked last year, visiting relatives in Australia so I’ve not been pushing out my regular weekly…

Ignoring the wishes of many of the local residents of Clewer & Dedworth, Cllr Samantha Rayner (who lives in Horton) and Cllr Gerry Clark (who lives in Cookham Dean) have pulled the trial removal of the “Re-Cycling Centre” at Sutherland Grange aka Dedworth dump. Despite strong representations from WWRA and tBf to remove the ever…

Capital Scheme Requests need to be in by 31st August and so your feedback is requested this Bank Holiday Monday… thank you. The “Adopt-a-Street” scheme has been open for a number of years and yet looking at the online map there appear…

How would you describe this mess to a young child interested in saving the planet? Saying it’s re-cycling and you are really not putting them on the right path are you? Maintaining this monstrosity costs more and more as people get lazier and lazier… There are those who think that doing more for lazy, inconsiderate,…

I had a meeting this week with Paul James, Head of Public Affairs and Joe McMann, Senior Communications Manager at Telefónica UK Limited. O2…

O2 are preparing to launch 5G in 20 cities across the land and Eton, Windsor and Reading are lucky or unlucky enough to be part of the first traunch. If you were sitting across the table from senior figures at O2 and looking at the whites of their eyes, what question would you want to…
